Help!!! My cat keeps peeing on the floor at night

Evening everyone,

As the title says, I have a 4-year-old female cat who always pees in the same spot at night. No matter how much we scrub and deep-clean it, she just keeps doing it. Her litter tray is always kept clean, but even when I've just changed the litter, she still does it that same night.

She's had this habit ever since we got her as a kitten.

We have another 6-year-old female cat and everything is fine between them.

We're at our wits' end – why does she only do this at night? And every single night? We don't lock her away; she has the run of the whole flat at night.

If anyone can help, please do, because every morning it's the same old story and now with our 2-year-old toddler, he can't even get out of bed for fear of him stepping in it.

I reckon if she had a health problem or was stressed, she'd be doing it during the day too and not just at night. Anyway, lots of questions and no answers.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply.

    Hi everyone, I know it’s been a while but I’m in exactly the same boat. I have a 4-year-old female cat who pees in the same spot every single night (in the kitchen). She’s been spayed and I’ve tried putting her litter tray in that spot, but then she just went and peed somewhere else 😩.

    It’s so frustrating.

    I’ve already had the vet do:

    * Urine analysis -> nothing

    * Kidney ultrasound -> nothing

    * Bought an XXL litter tray -> nothing

    * Installed motion-sensor lights in case her ladyship is afraid of the dark 😅 -> absolutely zip

    Basically, aside from taking up yoga classes for myself, I haven't found a miracle fix 🙄😽

    If she's always peeing in the same spot at night, have you tried putting a litter tray there?

    It might be down to the anxiety of being left alone at night.

    Sorry to tell you this but both cats are neutered and still pee everywhere. It’s either a bad habit or they're doing it out of spite because she’s on her own—at least that’s what my vet told me. A cat that's used to having people around all day and is then left alone at night might act out to get back at you. Good luck (getting her spayed won't help at all, quite the opposite actually).

    Hi there, No, she hasn't been spayed. But do you think it could be down to that? I did wonder if it was a bladder issue, but then I thought that if she had a bladder problem, she'd be doing it all the time rather than just at night. That’s what’s so odd about it.

    Hi there

    It could be a bladder or kidney issue, so definitely keep a close eye on her

    Hi there,

    Has she been spayed?
