Hi everyone, I was just looking for a little tip! I ordered 40 litres of litter for my little ones last week but it still hasn't arrived and the tray is filthy and stinks! When I placed the order, I had enough left for two changes, but now I'm completely out! I want to empty it because I don't know how they're even still using it! I know the best thing would be to nip out and buy a small bag, but my order is due tomorrow, so I'm thinking of putting some newspaper or kitchen roll in the bottom for the day. Is that okay, or do you have any other stop-gap solutions?

No, I haven't seen any redness, otherwise I would’ve put some on them, and they already track it everywhere anyway so it wouldn't have been any worse!!! I’ve tried every type of litter but they get it everywhere with all of them, so I’ve stuck with clumping because I find it’s the best for me in terms of cleaning up.
Yeah, I think using kitchen roll is definitely the best shout as a temporary fix! ^^ If you’ve got rodents, you could also use wood shavings, but they’ll get stuck all over their paws, so the house will be a right state afterwards xD
After our little ones were neutered, the vet suggested filling the litter tray with kitchen roll to avoid irritating their fresh incisions. You just have to change the kitchen roll every evening, but other than that, the cats put up with it without any issues for a week! ^^
I wouldn't recommend using newspaper; the ink will run and it's toxic. You can, however, mix a bit of soil in with the clean litter. My cats usually go outside, but just keep in mind that it won't mask the odour for nearly as long.
