Ange33oce,
Before looking into any prevention, I’d strongly suggest taking some precautions. In particular, it would be wise to figure out how your cat is catching these ear mites.
Since it’s recurring and in such a short space of time, there must be a source of infection that’s recontaminating him as soon as the effects of the treatment wear off.
Giving medication, whatever it may be, is never a minor thing and can even be detrimental to his health.
Is he an outdoor cat? Does he come into contact with other cats, dogs or other animals?
When you treat him, what steps do you take regarding his bedding and your home?
Ear mites are essentially caused by a mite that he’s almost certainly catching from another cat or dog—likely other animals. It would be a good idea to treat them at the same time to wipe out the source for good.
Kind regards
