Kitten using me as a scratching post?

Hi everyone,

I have two 9-month-old neutered male cats.

Since it started getting colder this winter and I've been wearing jeans, one of my cats has started scratching my thigh and my calf...

My other cat doesn't do it at all, so I don't really get why he's doing it 😅.

When he starts, I just nudge him away and he goes to use his cat tree or scratching post instead.

Has anyone else dealt with this before?

Thanks for your replies!

    Hi there,

I’d also add that cats release calming pheromones when they scratch. Whether it’s 'kneading' your thigh (making biscuits on the spot) or the act of scratching (vertically), it just means they like the surface! Gently but firmly push them away without telling them off; it’s actually a rather 'affectionate' gesture they’re showing you...
