What on earth was I thinking, giving my boys a bit of wet food every morning? Ever since, thanks to Baby Harley, it’s absolute chaos every morning trying to get me out of bed. He whines almost non-stop in the bedroom and on the bed, pestering F lia to get her into trouble, and after a while, if I don't budge, he starts doing exactly what he knows full well he’s not allowed to do, just to get a reaction: scratching the walls and the curtains! He never does it anywhere else or at any other time of day. And no matter how much Feliway I spray on those spots, my little rascal doesn't give a toss! Mind you, it’s perfectly normal; it isn't marking, it’s a very clever bit of retaliation.
Basically, he is absolutely nightmareish. Marius, leave this body! Lol
At the same time, I can't help but admire how sharp he is to have figured out exactly what makes me jump out of bed; who says cats aren't clever? ;)
How can you resist a lovely little face like that? :)

I'm really glad Winny already sees you as a mate :) It’ll make a nice change for you, having a cat that’s actually out and about! :-)
As for a name, I’m not sure as I don’t have a boy. I call Mocca ‘my little cow’ because when she lies down on the rug, she reminds me of one. And Chili, I don’t know, she’s just Chili!
Euqi, I saw your post this morning before heading off to collect Winny. I spent the whole journey (the rescue is about an hour’s drive away) trying to think of another word for a little rascal, but I’m completely stumped. All the ones that come to mind seem to be feminine; you’d think boys weren’t allowed to get into trouble!
Winny has only just arrived, but the second I pulled out a pouch of wet food, he beat me to the kitchen, jumped up on the worktop and looked at me as if to say I wasn't moving nearly fast enough.
Lol, they’re all the same, aren't they? I’m definitely going to need a nickname for him too.
Little Harley does it on the bed base as well, but it bothers me less than the walls or the curtains (I’ve got a protector for the base), so he’s taking it to the next level now ;)
It’s a bit like that on my worktop too, P'titefleur, except I’ve only got three ;)
Mind you, that didn’t stop them from knocking a ramekin onto the floor a few days ago! And since they’re made of china (I serve the wet food separately from the dry food), I had to pick up all the broken bits before I could feed them—they weren’t best pleased! Lol
A proper little gluttonous rascal, Magimiz, can you imagine! :D
Maybe try giving her that little treat at a different time of day, Ganache, and not the same one every day? It’ll be a nightmare to begin with, but she should eventually calm down once she stops expecting something the moment you get out of bed.
Actually, I’m wondering if I should do the same thing here, if only to save my walls and curtains in the bedroom...
I’m having the same issue with Ganache and it’s getting worse over time... If she doesn’t get either some wet food or a bit of ham the very second I wake up, she literally goes mental! It’s honestly a bit of a pain and I’ve no idea how to sort it out. I love spoiling her, but when she starts charging about, tail all puffed up, and aggressively scratching her cat tree (out of pure rage), it’s actually quite freaky!
"Oh, they certainly know how to get their own way when they want something, Magimiz... But he’s the only one of the three who does that. Mind you, the other two are right chuffed when I finally get up and they'll lead the way to the kitchen, but they wait nicely."
Hehehe, they’ve all got their own little personalities, haven’t they? He’s a proper little rascal, as Flam would say ^^'
Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays... oops... that’s tonight! I give Voyou, Flemming and Harria a pouch or a small tin of Almo Nature... Corazon isn't interested, and the other cats in for boarding only have dry food.
Voyou has a special urinary care pouch and the other two just eat their normal food.
You should see the absolute chaos in the kitchen... as soon as the furballs spot the pouches, they're all over the worktops, even though every cat has his own spot to eat.
And then, when I open the first pouch... I’ve got three heads right over my hands...
"Hurry up, Mum... you’re being too slow..." "Is it for me? Is it for me?"
You wouldn't believe how fast I have to get those bowls ready...
Once every little head is stuck into their food, there’s total silence in the kitchen...
Sometimes I cheat and get it all ready beforehand...
Oh, when they want something, Magimiz... But he’s the only one of the three who does that. Mind you, the other two are very happy when I get up and they beat me to the kitchen, but they wait nicely.
There you go, Civa, it’s the same here – Hulys does something he’s definitely not allowed to do, attacking the carpet and your feet :)
