Hi everyone!

I've been wondering about something.

My cat is quite old, and lately she's started getting into the sinks, the bath and the shower. She even sleeps in there (see photo). Whenever I try to put her in her little cat bed (which is 1000x more comfy!), she bolts off at full pelt. She's choosing really uncomfortable spots (e.g. on top of the printer, on my keyboard, outside in the wet grass, or perched on the edge of any surface...). So, if anyone knows why she might be doing this or if there's a solution, thanks in advance!

Hi, sorry if I’m being a bit alarmist (hopefully I’m wrong). You should book an appointment with your vet to have her kidneys checked. Cats with kidney failure tend to hang around water sources (sinks, basins...). Since your little one is older, there's a higher risk she's developed an insufficiency. If caught in time, it’s a condition that can be managed with medication (though it remains incurable).

Why bother finding a solution? It’s such a laugh seeing cats in sinks! :) Mine do it too, and so did the ones I had before them. I reckon the printer and the keyboard are just for the warmth lol. In my case, it’s my Prince who plonks himself on the keyboard and he often ends up turning the computer off that way. Do post some photos, I love seeing them!

Only she knows why she prefers those spots LOL. Cats are mysterious and fickle, so she might well change her mind and find a new favourite spot soon. However, if a cat starts sleeping in hidden places when it's out of character for them, it could be a sign of a health issue or that they're in pain. Their instinct tells them to hide away in those cases.
