My kitten eats like a little pig

Hi everyone,

My little Gibbs, who’s growing up so fast, eats like a little pig...

I’ve only just finished cleaning the kitchen and, as soon as I put his bowl down with his dry food, he’s gone and made a mess again, getting half of it everywhere...

His lordship is far too posh to eat the bits that have fallen onto his placemat; I even find some in the living room sometimes!

He has a bowl with high sides... so I’m really at a loss for what to do with my little piggie ^^

Does anyone have any tips for stopping dry food from getting all over the kitchen floor???

Cheers everyone

Yeah, because he doesn't want to stay bent down over his bowl for long.

    This is the one: http://www.wanimo.com/fr/chats/set-de-table-pour-chat-sc845/plateaux-de-proprete-lindo-sf767/

It’s because his lordship takes a mouthful of dry food and shakes it... so all the "extra" bits end up falling all over the place.

I haven’t put anything down myself, Némésis is a fairly tidy eater. I occasionally find one or two bits of dry food, but that’s about it.

“I don’t know what too much to tell you” – that’s not even proper English! I should really remember to proofread before I post...

Oh dear, it's not great with the cat making a mess everywhere, Flavie... I'm not really sure what to suggest... Maybe try a different bowl or do as Nimiss says...

Then again, cats are probably just like humans—you’ve got the greedy guts who make a mess and then you’ve got the rest! ;)

That’s why I’m careful about the height of the bowl, and they haven’t made a mess since – even the babies crunch their dry food right over it.

I've changed bowls several times and it hasn't made any difference, but maybe give it a try Eivalf. Mine never eats the dry food he drops outside his bowl unless we refill it after it's gone empty :D (that rarely happens, they usually end up in the hoover)

A cat shouldn't have a bowl that’s too deep; they hate it and it makes them eat really messily. That’s why if you compare dog bowls and cat bowls in pet shops, they aren't made the same way. So it could just be that – the bowl isn’t right for them.
