The two-month-old puppy is so adorable you’d think his family would want to smother him with love and kisses, not hammer blows. But that’s the reality Célestin was forced to endure.
Heart-wrenching abuse
The family, which owned Célestin’s mother, entrusted the care of the tiny puppy to someone they believed to be a warm and caring individual. However, when John Rescue Animal Protection received reports of suspected mistreatment, they would discover a heart-wrenching scene and a dog barely clinging to life.
To everyone’s horror, it was revealed that Célestin had suffered horrific injuries from savage hammer blows, leaving him with cerebral oedema, internal bleeding, and severe wounds on his stomach and back.
Hope for Célestin
Thankfully, Célestin is finally on the road to recovery following intensive veterinary care. It’s hoped that he won’t have any long-term brain damage.
The owners of Célestin’s mother were devastated to learn the true extent of the horrendous abuse inflicted on the innocent puppy. They are left racked with guilt and regret for trusting this individual.
A formal complaint has been lodged with the police and legal proceedings are expected to be brought against the perpetrator of this horrendous cruelty.
