Whenever we adopt dogs and bring them into our home, they simply become part of the family. We get them countless toys and goodies, give them a nice cozy bed, and would do just about anything to make sure they’re happy. Unfortunately, not everybody thinks of dogs in this way.
A German Shepherd, the dog in the video you’ll see, was left behind on the busy streets of Los Angeles. But, much thanks to Hope for Paws, this wonderful dog didn’t stay on the streets for very long!
When Hope for Paws received a call regarding a German Shepherd who had been living close to a medical clinic, they didn’t think twice. They went to rescue him right away. The very first thing they did was ask to determine whether the dog, later named Mozart, belonged to someone from the clinic. But they quickly found out that poor Mozart had been homeless for quite some time.
When they found him, Mozart was scared and nervous, and wouldn’t react to food. Once the clinic’s security guards noticed what the Hope for Paws team was trying to do, they jumped into action to help get Mozart into a gated area of the building.
With lots of patience and teamwork, Mozart was finally secured so that he couldn’t run away. Next, the team was able to get him safely and securely in a crate. From there, they went straight to the hospital. Hope for Paws examined Mozart for a microchip but they found none, and he was also not neutered. He was given medical care and a lot of love from the Hope for Paws staff, and now Mozart is safe and doing well at a foster home. He is ready to be adopted!
Hope for Paws has become a leader in helping to address the stray dog crisis in Los Angeles. Always ready to take things up a notch, Hope for Paws rescues dogs that others can’t or don’t want to.
