You Can See this Puppy’s Heart Breaking When She Realises She’s Being Left Behind

Electra was dumped at the Inland Valley Humane Society in Pomona, California, on May 17, and put up for adoption.

The video below shows a heartbroken four-year-old puppy, Electra, watching her owners walk away as she’s locked in a cage.

This video – which makes me furious and bawl my eyes out – was uploaded to Facebook by a local woman, Lolys Menchaka, who helps the shelter find its animals new homes.

“Electra represents the face of sadness and reality in the shelters,” she wrote in the video’s caption.

“Sometimes I would like to understand owners surrendering their animals and I don’t like to judge them, but when you see how the dogs come to the receiving department with their happy faces and they stand all proud I just can’t understand.”

Many of the more than 270 000 people who watched the video were struck by Electra’s crushing abandonment.

“This kills me. Those eyes. She’s so scared. The wagging tail. She still wants to give love. Dogs are so selfless,” one wrote.

Fortunately, it seems Electra found a new home and she’s now listed as adopted at the top of the post, hopefully with a long and happy new life ahead of her.
