The disturbing clip lasts for about 60 seconds.

It's been shared thousands of times on social media, with many voices calling for any information about the man's identity.

A sickening video

The man can be seen walking with a small child and two dogs. The animals appear to be acting normally before the man turns and punches one of the dogs, a German shepherd, in its side. He then kicks out at the second dog, a black Labrador.

Both animals then cower away as he continues striking them with his hands and feet.

The disturbing incident happened around 10.30am on Sunday, March 10. It's been reported to the RSPCA and local police.

A local community group called Nunthorpe Working Together posted the video on Facebook. It now has over 65,000 views.

The post asks people with any information to contact the group through a private message.

A spokesperson from the RSPCA has confirmed an inspector is investigating the matter.  They said:

"This video is very concerning, and it is never acceptable to hit or kick an animal in this way...If anyone has any information about this incident, please call our inspector appeal line on 0300 123 8018 and ask to leave a message for inspector Nick Jones."

Leave it to the professionals

Anyone with information should refrain from posting it on any public social media spaces. Aside from the risks associated with mistaken identity, it could also hamper any official investigations into the matter.

Contact the professionals instead and let them do their job.
