In honour of new blockbuster Captain Marvel’s star of the show, Goose, we’ve taken a trip through memory lane and picked some of our favourite feline movie stars!

Who’s seen the new superhero movie, Captain Marvel? In the film, incredible actress Carol Danvers transforms into one of the world’s most powerful superheroes and fights to save the Earth in a war between two alien races.
And, while that’s great and all, we were more excited about Cookie, the cute ginger tabby cat who has a starring (well, kinda) role in the film. Sorry, Carol, but to us Cookie was definitely the star of the show (and, we’re not going to lie, pretty much the only reason we went to see the film).
So, in honour of kitty filmstars, we’ve picked out 3 of our favourite all-time felines in film:
Our favourite 3 feline film stars
The Cheshire Cat, Alice in Wonderland, 1951
We couldn’t miss one of the most iconic animated cats of all time off the list.
If you’ve watched Alice in Wonderland, you’ll know how peculiar, strange and mystical Wonderland really is. But of all the wonderfully strange characters who grace this unforgettable film, there’s one character that truly stands out - The Cheshire Cat!
He’s magical, he’s mystical and frankly, a little too good with metaphors. So, in the words of the quirky feline himself, “We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.’
Bob, A Street Cat Named Bob, 2016
This is a slightly lesser known film, but one the Wamiz team are humongous fans of. This British novel turned film tells the true story of James Bowen, a busker and (recovering) drug addict, who’s life turned around for the better because of one cat - Bob!
This is a truly inspiring film which shows the healing power and motivation that having a pet can give to us humans. And, guess what? The kitty in the film is actually James Bowen’s real cat - amazing!
Crookshanks, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, 2004
Harry Potter is loved by young and old around the world, but there’s always one character who we believe is truly underrated - Crookshanks the kitty, of course!
Hermione bought the cute feline from a shop who said he’d been there for years as ‘nobody wanted him’. But like any true cat lover, Hermione knew the scruffy kitty deserved a forever home, and so, decided to adopt him.
And it turns out, he was one special cat! He could solve problems without any help whatsoever, could immediately recognize and warn of untrustworthy people and, most importantly, was super cute, loving and affectionate. Good choice, Hermione, good choice!
