What is International Women’s Day?

This global day of support designed to promote women’s rights and celebrate the work of women was first initiated in 1909. The Socialist Party in America designated March 8th to honour the garment workers’ strike of 1908. Since then, International Women’s Day celebrates all the wonderful women, groovy girls and funky females all over the world.

Celebrating our Dogs, Woman’s Best Friends too

On this marvellous day of celebration, we can also showcase the amazing relationships that women have with their pooches. No matter what our circumstances are, our loving dogs stick by our sides, giving us support and enjoyment every day. Celebrating International Women’s Day with your dog can be as easy as giving your four-legged friend a hug, or taking them for a walk. Maybe you want to show your appreciation to your dog even more. Here are some ideas for spending some quality time with your pup.

No 2. Bake some doggy treats and meet all your pals in the park with their dogs for a run around in the fresh air then follow up with a picnic.

No 3.  Spruce up your dog and take some photographs of him to share on social media

No 4. Take your pup to the pet store and let him choose his own toy or treat.

No 5.  Our dogs are always happy to learn a new skill. Why not tackle some obedience classes.

No 6. Offer to walk the dog of an elderly or ill neighbour.
