A youth football game in Turkey was interrupted by an uninvited player who wanted to show off his silky skills
The four-legged intruder ran onto the pitch and quickly dispossessed one of the players. Despite their best attempts to get the ball back, they were no match for the dogs quick bursts of pace and close control. The dog rounded fours players with ease, nutmegging one in the process, before almost putting the ball in the back of the net. The dog was finally stopped by what looked like a very dubious challenge.
A student of the modern game
After winning the ball back, the humans were harried and harassed by the dogs high pressing defensive style, a technique perfected by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. With little time on the ball, the players couldn't get into their rhythm and struggled to keep hold of the ball.
The referee decided to put them out of their mistery by stopping the game. But like all the greatest holding midfielders of the modern era, this dog loves the dirty part of the game. He pressed the referee, snapping around his ankles before forcing him into making a mistake. As soon as the ref dropped the ball, the dog was off on another one of his winding Messi-like runs.
Speculation on the dogs future
It seems like the wonder pups owner had been watching from the stands. He can be seen at the end of the clip, after his dog was finally directed off the field. You can then hear plenty of laughs from the crowd, a sure sign that they'd enjoyed the entertaining interruption.
Given the high-quality of the dog's performance, he may already be on the radar of some of Europe's top clubs. Unfortunately, the transfer window is now closed, and any team looking to sign the four-legged maestro will have to wait until after the summer.
