We all love our dogs to look their very best, but it is taking things too far when you glamorise your pooches’ balls with edible glitter?

A disturbing new trend or a beauty treatment
Pet owners in North Carolina remain divided over this new trend. Some male dogs are having their testicles decorated with edible glitter that is held in place with corn syrup. While it’s very amusing for some pet owners, others have announced their horror at this trend. Comments such as, “Is it really fair to give your pooches’ balls a jazzle, rather than having a vajazzle?” and “you will certainly be able to tell where your dog has pooped in the house!” have been heard.
Not everyone agrees with this testicle embellishment
A pet grooming salon in High Point, North Caroline, first reported the new fad and confirmed that their staff certainly wouldn’t be carrying out glitter adornment on any pooches’ balls. Even though they are happy to carry out creative grooming on the dogs that visit their salon, this new glittery look is just one step too far. Apart from the fact that the dogs are very likely to lick their genitals as part of their daily cleaning routine and then eat the glitter, because the glitter is even placed there in the first place, is quite distressing.
Will it work as a Christmas Decoration?
As with most unique dog grooming trends, they don’t remain in favour for very long. A trip to the dog salon used to mean a haircut and bath, at the most a pedicure. Thing have changed and your pooch can now expect dreadlocks, coloured highlights and even toe nail painting. However, placing Glitter on your pooches’ ball is one fashion style that won’t stay in vogue for very long. Certainly not even as a Christmas Decoration.
