When Caitlyn the Belgian Malinois was brought to the shelter 3 weeks ago, she was in pretty bad shape.
Starting from scratch
The poor thing was just skin and bones, only weighing a meagre 20 kilos, whereas she should’ve been at 25, at least!
In addition to this, it was clear that Caitlyn had not been properly trained or socialised. Indeed, the Malinois is scared of everything - every new place she visits or sound she hears.
Hope for the future
Thankfully, shelter staff are hopeful and are not going to give up on her. They’re training her every day, and using positive reinforcement, they’re helping her regain confidence.
But what Caitlyn really needs? A loving home! Even though she is shy, she loves people and can be really affectionate with those she trusts.
If you know someone in Malaga, Spain, who would be interested in adopting her, make sure you share this article with them! Caitlyn is located at the Sociedad Protectora de Animales y Plantas de Málaga.
