Maggie was originally found as a stray in Lebanon.
When she was discovered by her rescuers, she was in a sorry state. In fact, they didn’t know whether she would survive.
Abused stray given a chance to live
Poor Maggie had been shot 17 times, blinded in both eyes, and one of her ears had also been viciously cut off.
Maggie was rushed to a rescue where she was quickly given emergency care. And it wasn’t long before she caught the eye of a British woman named Kasey Carlin. Kasey felt an instant connection with Maggie and knew that she needed her help. Plus, Kasey suffered from depression, so she knew she could use a friend too.
A new beginning
Without further ado, Kasey brought Maggie back to Brighton with her. As the days and weeks passed, Maggie got stronger and stronger. But perhaps the most wonderful part of her recovery is that she decided to completely forgive humans. In fact, she’s so loving and friendly that Kasey decided to sign her up for therapy dog training.
And guess what - the dog who owes nothing to humans decided to make their lives better anyway - she passed the therapy dog test! Now she goes around the country making people in care homes and hospitals happier every day. Maggie, you are a star!
