A tradition at New Year is to make "good resolutions": Do a diet, stop smoking, exercise, phone your loved ones more often... We humans are never short of ideas on January 1st. But what about our pets? What if they wrote down good resolutions too?

To celebrate the New Year in style, we’ve put together a list of good resolutions your dog or cat could consider, even though they are perfect! 3,2,1… Happy New Year!

Resolution No. 1: Stop begging like a pauper!

Does your dog beg every time you are having dinner? Does he look longingly at these delicious sandwiches, pastries and other delicacies when he walks in the street?

Sure, your dog eats the same food every day, and you feel sorry for him, especially when he stares at you with his irresistible eyes. But you have to learn to say no!

It's a bad habit to give your pet your own food too often. A habit you might want to stop in 2022, don't you think?

Resolution No. 2: Come when my owner calls me…

Does your dog ignore you when you call him? Don't be defeatist. No matter how old your dog is, it's never too late to teach him to recall. Daily life will be so much more pleasant if you don't have to chase your dog all day long!

Resolution No. 3: No more scratching at my owner’s furniture…

All cats need to scratch and they do so for many reasons: to express their emotions, to mark their territory and to remove the dead parts of their nails.

But that's no reason to let your feline attack your furniture, wallpaper and other fabrics!

From scratching posts and cat trees to claw trimming and synthetic pheromones, there are many ways to keep your cat from wrecking your home!

Resolution No. 4: Stop drinking water from the toilet!

Letting your dog or cat drink the water from your toilet is not good for them or you! This is a very bad habit that can be easily stopped! Simply put the lid down and/or close the toilet door.

Resolution No. 5: Stop climbing on the shelves…

Incredibly flexible and agile, cats are true climbing experts. But your shelves and bookcases don't have to suffer the consequences!

While this skill allows feral cats to hunt outdoors, in your home it is more often synonymous with destruction. Have you considered cat trees?

Resolution no. 6: Stop making small (or large) holes in the garden…

There are no moles around, yet your garden is being ravaged by holes!

Don't panic, there are ways to stop your faithful friend from digging up your beautiful lawn. By offering him other things to do, by making it very difficult for him to do so, or by deciding to mark out an area just for him, for example.

Resolution no.7: Continue being my best friend!

Our pets are our best friends, they are part of our family and we love them unconditionally.

And you, what good resolutions would you like your pet to choose for the beginning of the year?
