For years, two cats named Fanta and Filemon have been living at the Hala Kondratowa Hostel in the Tatra Mountains of Poland.
Kitty fame
Over time, the cats have somewhat become celebrities, with many people posting about them on social media.
To nasze schronisko jest naprawdę urocze. ❄🔥Wszyscy uwielbiają w nim przebywać. 🔥🤗🍯☕ A najbardziej upodobały sobie Filemon i Fanta. 🐈🐈⬛🐈 O Fancie było już głośno, bo zdobyła Giewont.

Unfortunately, it looks like their time in the limelight is coming to an end. A tourist recently complained about their presence, saying it was a danger to the wildlife in the national park, and that the cats had no place there.
Her complaint started a huge debate online. Most people fought for the cats’ right to stay in their hostel home, while others agreed that technically, domestic animals weren’t allowed in the national park.
Hostel cats rehomed
So in the end, the decision was made that the cats would be relocated. Unfortunately, before Fanta could be adopted, he ran away from the hostel and hasn’t been found since.
Filemon, on the other hand, has already found a perfect forever home. We don’t think he’ll be missing the hostel much after all!
