Some charities go above and beyond to help people. But these charities need help too, simply to survive! That’s where celebrities often come in to represent them.

Guide Dogs recently decided to celebrate their 90th anniversary by asking UK celebrities to pose with their dogs for black and white portraits

The portraits will help to raise money for the charity – which is seeking funds to ensure it can continue to provide services to people with sight loss for the next 90 years.

Among the celebrities featured in the portraits were Simon Cowell, Jim Carter, Imelda Staunton, Tilda Swinton, and Sir Derek Jacobi, to name a few.

Proof dogs change our lives for the better

Some actors shared a little bit of their story along with their photo. Actor Phil Daniels said:

“My dog has been very important in my life. I lost my partner nine years ago to cancer when Chico was a young dog and he has been my companion ever since and is 14 now and still going strong. He’s a Spanish stray that needed looking after. I tell people he’s a black Russell. Me and Chico think that’s funny."

The heart-warming photos and stories are utterly relatable to all loving dog owners. And it’s all for such a good cause.

The first Guide Dog was paired with his owner in 1931. Now the Guide Dogs charity handles over 8,000 dogs at any given time.
