A majority of people looking to adopt a dog prefer young puppies because of the cute factor. Because of this, many senior dogs are overlooked in shelters for weeks, sometimes even years, before they find a forever home.

That’s why this shelter knew they would struggle with Larry, their 9 year-old Mastiff-type dog. Who would want an old dog like him?

Well, to their surprise, someone did call the shelter with an interest for Larry. But this adopter wasn’t just any anyone. The person on the other end of the line was no other than Kaley Cuoco, famous for playing the role of “Penny” in “The Big Bang Theory”.

She knew Larry was the one when she first laid eyes on him, and immediately started on the adoption paperwork.

Larry living his best life

Larry has been living his new dream life for two weeks now and is absolutely LOVING it. Kayley regularly posts videos of him lounging on the sofa or playing with his new toys.

Remember, there are lots of advantages in adopting an older dog! They are usually calmer, more mature, and don’t need as much training when it comes to things like going to the toilet properly! If you can, adopt, don’t shop!
