Skipper, or Skippy, is an Australian Shepherd/Collie mix. But there’s something about her that makes her different from all other dogs in the world.
Indeed, Skipper was born with 6 legs and 2 rear ends!
A miracle puppy
Vets were stunned when they first laid eyes on her. The malformation left Skippy with a normal upper body but with two pelvises, two urinary tracts, two genital areas, two tails, and six legs.
But what’s even extraordinary is that Skippy is in good health. Most puppies born with such defects don’t live long.
Puppy born with two rear ends defies odds
But Skippy is now 3 months old, and she’s still fighting for a normal life. She’s currently doing lots of physical therapy and the vets are hopeful that someday she’ll be able to move around like a normal dog.
She’s already showing signs of improvement and her personality is shining through day by day. Her owners have started a fundraiser to help cover the costs of her long-term care. This girl really is a miracle.
We wish Skippy all the best and hope she continues to defy the odds!
