Frankie, a 16-year-old tabby cat, disappeared from the Fitzsimons family home. At first, the family thought he was just wandering around the neighbourhood and would return soon.

Sadly, as the days went by, the family, including a 7-year-old boy named Remy, started to worry for their furry friend.

Family cat involved in terrible accident

The Fitzsimons gathered up search parties and told everyone around them to keep their eyes peeled for any sign of their beloved pet. It wasn’t long before someone brought word of Frankie. Sadly, it was not the news the family was waiting for. Their beloved cat had been found on the side of a busy road, lifeless.

Devastated, they took their pet to a vet clinic and had him cremated. They couldn’t believe they had lost their Frankie, and were inconsolable at the thought that he had been alone and probably afraid in his last moments.

An unbelievable sight

But days after the cremation, there was a major turn of events. Frankie the cat showed up at the Fitzsimons’ house! Hungry and tired, but definitely alive.

“It’s a miracle!”, said Remy.

No, Frankie didn’t come back from the dead. Turns out, the Fitzsimons just cremated the wrong cat.

We are so very relieved that Frankie was reunited with his family. But we remind readers that this story shows the importance of getting cats microchipped
