A white and brown pitbull was found wandering the streets by herself 5 years ago. Soon, she was taken to an animal shelter and named Chloe.

Photos and videos of her were posted on the shelter’s social media in the hopes that someone would know who the dog belonged to.

And lo and behold, just a few weeks later, a man stepped into the shelter. He had been made aware of a dog named “Chloe” who resembled his dog “Mary Jane” very closely.

Shelter staff brought Chloe out of her kennel, and then, there was no doubt that she was this man’s dog.

Emotional reunion between dog and owner

She immediately began to pull on the lead, jumping up so high that her owner finally decided to pick her up so she could lick his face more easily! It was an emotional reunion to say the least…the love of dogs is so powerful!

After speaking with the owner, shelter staff discovered that Mary Jane had been stolen from him 7 months prior. Thankfully, all is well that ends well.

But, this owner could’ve surely been reunited with his beloved pet sooner if she had been microchipped! Let this be a lesson to all – microchipping is essential!
