A soft play area in Greater Manchester has created a dedicated space for pooches. It means families can enjoy a day out without leaving their furriest members at home!

At last, lockdown restrictions are starting to ease! Pubs, cafes, restaurants, and loads more fun places are beginning to open up again.

It's excellent news for people. But what about pooches? What are they going to do while their humans are out having all the fun? Well,  the Pipsqueaks Play Cafe in Wigan, Greater Manchester, has the best answer: just bring the dogs along.

Dog-friendly zones

Pipsqueaks recently announced a dog-friendly zone where pups can hang out with other canines while their human siblings have fun in the soft play area. Pipsqueaks also offer doggy treat bags and canine-friendly ice cream. And there's coffee and human snacks to keep the adults happy.

"Lots of people don't want to leave their dogs or would need to arrange for someone to pop in and check on them," said Wendy Unsworth, the cafe manager. "We like to think of Pips as being a family play cafe, and dogs are now just as much part of the family. It was a natural step to include them."

Book your doggy playday

Unfortunately, the actual play area is still off-limits for dogs. But that could change soon. Pipsqueaks manager Wendy Unsworth wants to start a regular doggy soft play day when pooches can fly down the slides and go wild in the ball pool. Now that's something we'd love to see.

The Pipsqueaks Play Cafe is open from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30 am to 2.30 pm on Saturdays. You can book your dog-friendly playday online.
