When Prince Philip was first sent to the hospital earlier this year, Prince Andrew decided to gift his mother with two adorable new companions.
Previously, the Queen only had one older Dorgi, named Candy, left by her side. She didn’t wish to adopt any new dogs, as she feared she would be too old to care for them and didn’t want to leave any behind when she eventually passed away. But seeing his mother so distraught with her husband’s declining health, Andrew decided a couple of new puppies were the best thing for her.
Fergus and Muick
Fergus the Dorgi and Muick the Corgi were indeed just what the Queen needed. They brought a lot of joy and energy into the palace while Philip was away.
And when the Prince passed, they were by the Queen’s side, keeping her company and giving her the affection she needed to be strong.
Tragically, Fergus passed away this weekend, at only 5 months of age. The circumstances of his death are unclear, and for now, no-one really knows what caused it.
Only one thing is for sure: The Queen and everyone around her are absolutely devastated. Losing a pet can be so hard, but this death is particularly difficult considering Prince Philip passed away a mere month ago.
Now the Queen only has Muick and Candy left by her side. We can only imagine the pain and heartbreak she is living right now. But we know her pets will be there for her in her time of need.
