When animal lover Zofia Brzozowska brings home a bird with a badly injured neck, she cannot believe how one of her cats reacts to the little feathered patient.

Zofia Brzozowska from Szczecin in Poland is passionate about helping animals.

She regularly cares for sick and injured birds and even has a special bird care room in her home where birds can recover before being released back into the wild.

One day, Zofia discovered a little bird that crashed into a window, leaving it paralysed and with a twisted neck. The poor bird couldn't feed itself, and was in a desperate state.

Zofia wasn't discouraged, though. She was determined to do what she could to help it. Despite its serious injuries, Zofia believed she could save it.

She brought the little bird, who she'd named Aquarius, to her home that she shares with her two feline friends.

Remarkable recovery

As Zofia brought in the bird, her cat Harry immediately took a keen interest in his owner's new feathered friend. Harry watched closely as Zofia tended to Aquarius, not taking his eyes off the bird.

After ten days of rest and care from Zofia and under Harry's watchful eye, Aquarius was finally back on his feet. But to Zofia's amazement, the first thing Aquarius did when he felt well enough to walk was to head straight over to Harry.

And that was the start of a beautiful friendship.

Aquarius is very comfortable with being in Harry's company, and in turn, the gentle tomcat loves hanging out with his new feathered friend.

Perhaps getting to know Harry was what motivated Aquarius to get better!
