Rosie the white cat is deaf. Luckily, she lives with an owner who is willing to put in the time and patience it takes to communicate with her differently.

An example of this is dinner time. How do you tell a sleeping cat who can’t hear you that dinner is served? Well the answer is simple: You appeal to a different sense.

The magical powers of tuna

In this case, Rosie’s owner used her cat’s sense of smell to wake her up. In a hilarious video, you can see her placing a small can of tuna-flavoured cat food right beneath Rosie’s nose.

And Rosie has an immediate and powerful reaction to the smell! She instantly wakes up and starts to meow loudly, letting her owner know that she is indeed hungry!

Deaf cat gets dinner

You can’t help but giggle when you see this girl’s reaction. Her meows are louder than one might be used to – and that’s probably because she can’t hear how loud she’s meowing herself! But her owners don’t mind. They love Rosie just the way she is. Cute and quirky.

For those of you who feel for little Rosie, don’t worry, she got her well-deserved dinner. She is one spoiled kitty!
