White House German Shepherd dogs Champ and Major Biden have had just six weeks living in their new abode but it seems they’re settling in very well indeed.
Senior dog, Champ is adjusting to retirement life very nicely and spends most of his time cosied up next to the fire while his younger brother and rescue pup Major, enjoys exploring the sprawling White House Gardens.
A privileged position
But, President Biden has revealed one special privilege that even some of the senior staffers don’t have – they can come and go to the Oval Office whenever they please.
Yep, possibly the most prestigious office on earth always has its doors open for America’s first dogs.
In a post to Twitter, the 46th President of the US revealed,
Two very good boys
Dr Jill Biden, the first lady, has previously told People magazine that the dogs are very well behaved so we think they more than deserve this impressive privilege.
Well done boys, we love hearing about your adventures and look forward to more updates over the next four years!
Not many people have Oval Office walk-in privileges. Happy to report that these two are on the list. pic.twitter.com/DRfr9hMsyW— President Biden (@POTUS) February 23, 2021
