It was a freezing cold morning when the shop worker arrived at the Aldi supermarket in the town of Fécamp in Normandy, France.
Little did they know that their day would take a dramatic turn when they decided to investigate a box abandoned in the car park.
With no idea who had left the box there and what could be inside, the curious shop worker decides to take a look. As they look inside, they are horrified to find seven tiny kittens.
Remarkably, despite the freezing temperatures outside and the kittens being so young, they all were still alive. But the shop worker knew that if the kittens were going to make it, they would have to act fast.
Knowing that time was of the essence, the shop worker contacted local cat rescue organisation Au Coeur Des Chats for help. They quickly arrived on the scene to take care of the kittens.
A second appalling discovery
But that wasn’t the end of the story. Just a few hours after discovering the seven little frozen kittens, another kitten is found abandoned. The kitten is the same age and has the same colourings as the earlier cats, so obviously belongs to the same litter.
Fortunately, despite their ordeal, the kittens are now doing well in the care of Au Coeur Des Chats.
The non-profit organisation takes in stray cats and kittens and neuters them before finding them forever homes. Once the adorable little kittens are old enough and strong enough, the organisation will put them up for adoption.
