It's official! London is now the best place in Europe to raise a fur baby. Or at least that's what the experts from Money.co.uk think.
They scored all of Europe's major cities using a set of pet-friendly metrics and data, including the number of vets, access to parks, number of pet stores, and average temperatures.
London and Birmingham top dog-friendly UK cities
London grabbed the top spot with an impressive 82/100, scoring particularly well on parks, animal care, and dog-friendly dining! Paris came in 2nd place with a score of 71. Rome picked up the bronze medal.
Birmingham was the only other British city to make it into the top 20. The UK's second-biggest city ranked 14th. It scored a perfect 10/10 for pet care but only got one point for doggy dining experiences. So come on restaurant owners of Birmingham, let the dogs in!
The benefits of being a fur parent
And this isn't the first study where British dog owners came out as winners. Research from The Economist revealed that UK fur-parents spend more money on their pets than anyone else in Europe.
Salman Haqqi, a personal finance expert at Money.co.uk, said:
"Our pets are part of the family in the UK. They provide us with endless companionship and help reduce our stress levels and increase our social activities. Dogs are really good for us!"
