The world can be overwhelming for a puppy learning the ropes. But when you lose the one person who always keeps you safe, it becomes a very scary place indeed.

Most pups would probably find a quiet place to hide. But not the clever boy in this story. Because when he got lost in the big bad world, he went straight back to the one place where he knew people would look after him - the vet's office!

Who's a clever boy?

The brainy pooch had been vaccinated there just a few months before, so he'd obviously remembered that it was a safe space for canines.

And he'd made a big impression on his last visit because the staff recognised him immediately. They also knew who he belonged to. And so following a quick phone call, one very relieved owner came to collect her runaway hound.

Every pup needs a home

CCTV footage shows the dog turning up at the vet's office. The pup has a little sniff around the front door to make sure he's in the right place. Then he looks through the glass with an expression that says, "Can anyone help a pup out?"

We don't know how the dog lost his human or how long he spent looking for help. But that doesn't matter now. Because he's home - the place where every dog should be.
