Blind dog abandoned by owners who aren't willing to deal with his medical needs
Following one of the most heart-breaking stories of neglect we’ve heard, Louis the Labrador cross is getting a second chance after his owners handed him to a shelter.

Louis the Lab-cross was so badly neglected by his owners that when they finally took him to the vet about his severe and long-running eye infection, the vets were forced to remove both his eyes to save him.
Shortly after this, the now blind pup, wandered into the road and was hit by a car, breaking his leg. His careless owners STILL did nothing and the break healed badly, leading poor Louis to have mobility issues too.
A second chance at happiness
But, after the rain comes the sun and following an awful start to life, the Labrador cross-breed pup has finally been handed into a shelter.
It seems that his owners were unwilling to care for a blind and injured dog so simply gave him up. Good news for Louis, we say.
Safe at last
The pup is currently with the good folks at the Helen Woodward Animal Shelter in California and is on the hunt for his forever home.
Shelter workers claim that the pup was very timid at first but within a few days his tail was wagging and he seemed delighted to be with people who care.
We’re looking forward to being able to update this story with news of Louis’ forever home.
Good luck little one!
