Abandoned by his owner because he could no longer hunt, Full was facing a bleak future until an animal charity came to the rescue and gave him the love he deserved.

Imagine being abandoned by your family because you were considered 'too old' and could no longer do your job.

While this might sound too cruel to be true, it was the harsh reality for Full, a former hunting dog who was simply discarded by his owner when they decided they no longer had any use for him.

Meet Full

At the grand age of 12, Full should be enjoying his retirement after spending his life as a hunting dog. But once he could no longer go hunting for his owner, he was promptly abandoned.

When his owner decided the dog had become 'useless', poor Full was locked in a pen all by himself in the woods. Fortunately, a kind elderly lady learned about the dog's plight and would occasionally bring him food and let him out of the pen so he could get some much needed fresh air. But while he miraculously survived, it wasn't any kind of life for the dog, just a mere existence.

Fortunately, the animal protection organisation Bergamo Oipa came to learn of Full's ordeal. They immediately removed Full from his awful living conditions and took him to get medical help as it was clear the dog was not in good health.

Full of Love

A vet revealed that the poor pup had chronic otitis and a malformation of the mouth, requiring an operation.

His rescuers were determined to give him all the care he needed, so they launched an appeal to raise funds for his treatment. They also hoped to find him a loving home that would care for him in his twilight years. After all, despite everything he'd been through, Full has a very sweet nature and deserves to have a family to love him.

Fortunately, everyone got their wish. There was enough money raised to pay for his treatment, and a family came forward to adopt him.

Now Full can live the rest of his life to the fullest.
