The USA is the place where anyone can make it big. It doesn't matter where you come from or even how furry you are. All you need is a dream and a little bit of luck along the way.
And for Major the German Shepherd, that came back in 2018. The pup was living in the Delaware Humane Association Shelter when a man named Joe Biden decided to make this pup's dream of a forever home come true.
Presidential pooch
Major couldn't believe his good fortune. He had a home, two loving parents, and a doggy brother called Champ. But things are about to get even better for Major.
Because now that his dad is President-Elect, staff at the Delaware shelter have decided to hold a special ceremony for the presidential pooch in waiting.
It means that a former stray who had no hope in the world is about to become the most famous dog in the USA. Now that's a real rag to riches 'tail.'
Rags to riches
The swearing-in ceremony is set for 17th January, three days before Major's dog dad takes office. Pumpkin Pet Insurance is hosting the virtual event.
A small donation is required to join in the fun via Zoom, and all proceeds will go towards helping more dogs like Major find their perfect homes.
