Tony Southgate is the proud cat dad of two Burmese kitties. For years the furry duo were the babies of the house, which meant they had the monopoly on snuggles and cuddles.
So when Tony and his wife decided to add their first human baby to the pack, they worried the cats might get jealous of the new arrival. After all, a few isolated stories have given cats a bad rap when it comes to newborns.
Furballs full of love
But this pair of furballs had nothing but love for their new sister. In fact, they quickly realised that baby Erin was the most precious thing in the world. And that's when they started standing guard over her during naptime!
Head of the pack Tony filmed one of these supercute snoozing sessions. The short clip now has 2million+ views on Youtube and over 1,000 comments from cat lovers.
"The cats are saying, 'This is our tiny Hooman. We must protect tiny Hooman,'" wrote one person.
Guard cats always get the night off
"Burmese cats are the best cats on the planet. They are full of love & affection. Very special animals," posted another.
Tony stressed that the guard-cats were always supervised by an adult and never slept beside baby Erin at night.
