Just a few months ago, Bobby the mix-breed had nothing to look forward to. Abandoned by his family, he was about to spend the festive season locked up in a shelter.
The staff couldn't understand why anyone would give up such a sweet and loving pup, so they decided to help Bobby get the only things he wanted for Xmas - loving dog parents and a real forever home.
One last plea for Bobby
They shared Bobby's story online. But with Xmas approaching, they knew it wasn't the best time for most people to adopt a rescue dog. And then one staff member had a flash of inspiration!
Few people can stay dry-eyed at a sad Xmas tale, so the rescue staff put Bobby in a cute festive jumper and made one last plea via their Instagram page.
"This is BOBBY in his Christmas Sweater. Who would ever give up this perfect angel?!" reads the post.
Hundreds of people left comments, with some calling the picture the saddest thing they'd ever seen. After all, no pooch should be left alone at Xmas.
A Christmas miracle
But it didn't take long for Bobby to get his Xmas miracle. Shortly after sharing the post, the shelter gave its Instagram followers an update - Bobby found a forever home! He's now getting ready to spend the holiday season with his new family.
Best Xmas present ever!
