It was a busy day for Bunni Watts. She was out running errands and picking up some pizza for her daughter's birthday. But despite being in a hurry, she spotted something that made her stop dead in her tracks.

It was a handwritten sign on the door of a picture framing shop. Bunni didn't need to buy a frame, but she knew she had to go into the shop.

Pawfect sign

The sign Bunni had spotted read: "Big Puppy' Leo' Loves To Greet All"

As a self-confessed "crazy dog person", Bunni was desperate to go inside and meet Leo, and she would have done, if she hadn't been in such a hurry to make it to her daughter's birthday lunch. But that didn't mean Bunni forgot about the sign or Leo. She couldn't stop thinking about it, so the next day, she returned to the shop.

Bunni meets Leo

Bunni and her husband run a wellness clinic across the road from the frame shop. She told her husband that she needed to pop out to get something from another shop and headed straight to the frame shop.

And she wasn't disappointed. As she entered, she was greeted by Leo the dog, a 21-month-old Golden Doodle/Great Pyrenees mix who came running over to her just like they were old friends.

Bunni was in doggy heaven and quickly took a snap of her new canine friend before giving him lots of strokes. Leo's owner Michael wasn't surprised to see Leo make yet another friend in the shop. Customers from neighbouring businesses often come in just to meet Leo. But besides greeting visitors, Leo's most important job is to provide companionship and support to Michael, who has severe PTSD from his time as a Navy Seal.

Bunni is now a frequent visitor to the frame shop to see Leo, and she's not the only one as this gentle giant has become the pawfect friend to many people in the community.
