Cat hair on your carpets, clothes and furniture is the price you pay for sharing your home with a cat. After all, it's normal for your cat to moult or shed as their fur renews and regrows.

But it doesn't make it any the less frustrating when you have to pick cat fur off your clothes or vacuum the sofa every day. But instead of just chucking it away, why not upcycle it?

'Feline' creative

That's what Japenese photographer Ryo Yamazaki and his wife Hiromi have done, and the results are adorable.

Check out our tips for grooming your cat!

The couple lives with their trio of Scottish Fold felines, Nyaa, Mar and Mugi who shed a lot of fur, especially after being groomed.

But this fur doesn't go to waste.

Cat hats!

The couple collect up the fur and transform it into little hats for their feline friends!

The cats have every hat design you can imagine, including a Viking helmet, detective hat, bunny ears, witches hat, pilot's hat and even a crown!

The pair shared photos of their cats modelling their impressive hat collection on Instagram, much to the delight of their 137k followers.

All they need now are matching fur outfits!
