When Chester’s owner passed away from coronavirus it left the poor pup with no one in the world to look after him. He was simply left to wander the streets near a market in Lima, Peru where his owner had a stall.
The other traders at the market soon became aware of Chester’s plight and decided to try to help find the pup a new home. They attached a note to his collar that read:
"Hello, my name is Chester. Please help me. My owner passed away from Covid-19 and I have nowhere to go, do not ignore me."
But while passers-by took pity on the dog and gave him a stroke, no one took him home.
However, things took a pawsitive turn for Chester when Nataly Oblitas read his note.
Nataly is an animal shelter manager at Huellitas Felices Peru and was working at the market raising money for the shelter. After Nataly asked around about the dog, she realised that he urgently needed her help.
She quickly took him to the shelter where he was given a thorough check-up by the vet. It was discovered that the poor pup had ehrlichiosis, a tick-borne disease that affects vision. The dog was immediately given the right treatment for his ailments.
Nataly shared Chester’s heartbreaking story online in the hope it would help to find him a new loving home. And it worked! Within just 24 hours a new home for Chester was found where he can get all the love and affection he deserves.
