On the morning of Sunday 16 August, Laura and Nigel Attwooll from Longey woke to realise their beloved English Pointer Lola was missing. After checking CCTV footage the family were distraught to discover that 18-month-old Lola had been stolen.
Caught on camera
The footage shows a car pull up to the gate by the house and when Lola jumps up onto the gate to see what’s going on, one of the thieves drags her over the gate, puts her into their car and drives away. Fortunately, the thieves only took one of the family’s two dogs, leaving their Collie behind.
The family admit to always having allowed their dogs to stay outside their home at night during the three decades they’ve lived at the quiet rural spot. While the dogs help to scare off foxes who might attack the ducks and chickens, the family also hoped the pup's presence would deter burglars.
Reward for information
The family are desperate for Lola’s safe return, who they describe as a friendly and gentle pup. They have offered up a cash award in the hope it will lead them to be reunited with their precious pup.
While Laura has passed the CCTV footage onto the police, she also decided to share it online in the hope that someone will have seen something or recognise the thieves.
