Tom is waiting for his new paw-rents at Battersea’s London centre.
Tom’s ideal environment
Tom can live just about anywhere as he won’t need too much exercise. His zoomies are usually short-lived and he much prefers to spend the majority of his time stretched out on the sofa and taking a nap.
Caring for Tom
Tom is 11-years old so he may only have a couple more years ahead of him – a perfect excuse to spoil him to no end! As a Greyhound, Tom will be a very light shedder and perfect for those who like to keep a clean home. Tom has some health issues – no doubt related to his past in the racing industry – and these will need to be discussed with the Battersea team before adoption.
As an ex-racer, Tom has a strong prey-drive and should always be kept muzzled and on a lead when out in public places. He has shown strong chase instincts with small animals (including dogs), so he’ll need to be the only pet in the house. The ideal owner is someone who knows sighthounds well and has experience in handling them.
A gentle giant
Tom is described by his carers as a lovely companion with a gentle personality. He would make any dog-loving home happy and fulfilled!
