As temperatures have soared, many of us humans have struggled to cope. But it can be far worse for our canine companions. Fortunately, James Middleton, well-known for his devotion to dogs, has come up with a clever hack to help dogs cope with the heat. He even got one of his own dogs to demonstrate!

Keep your canine cool

James took to Instagram where he posted a clip showing his beloved Golden Retriever Mabel enjoying a bath in a plastic tub of cold water while being sprayed with a hose. Mabel certainly looks like she’s enjoying the experience.

James also shared a graphic that showed some other ideas for helping pups cope with the summer heat for his followers to try with their pets.

To help keep your dog cool, James recommends:

  • Keep them in the shade
  • Put a damp towel out for them to lie on
  • Put a garden sprinkler on
  • Fill a paddling pool or container full of cool water
  • Fill a hot water bottle with cold water

James regularly shares photos of his dogs, Mabel and his four black Spaniels Luna, Inka, Zula and Ella on Instagram. James often shares his experience with living with depression and how his pups have helped him cope with his struggles with his mental health.
