The game is called Peace Island. It will be an open-world, narrative adventure game set amid a small town in Maine.
The story includes elements of science fiction and alternative history. Each mystery unfurls from the perspective of nine cats that call their human-less island ‘home’.
The cats are called Boy, Gary, Calinaigh, Anin, Girl, Zack, Ronan, Sushi, and Elizabeth. Each has its own personality and a specific set of skills.
Storylines to explore
Rather than there being a combat side to the game, the player experiences a multitude of storylines, each of which leads to the ultimate question of whether the humans are worth bringing back.
The only combatants to speak of are invasive animal species. The game offers the player the opportunity to explore at will and to uncover hidden gems wrought in exquisite detail.
The game is currently in development for Mac, PC and Oculus VR systems, according to Bored Panda. Since Blumrich began the Kickstarter for Peace Island, he has raised $13,098, almost twice as much as his targetted amount.
