Lolly is a 14-year-old cat who lives with his owner, Les Southam. While Les describes Lolly as being an old, lazy and ignorant cat, this hasn’t stopped him from finding fame for a rather unusual reason.

Playing dead

Lolly likes to play dead. He will lie out in the middle of the road with his eyes closed and appear to onlookers that he’s been hit by a car.

It’s not unusual for Les to get phone calls from concerned neighbours and vets telling her that her cat has been found dead in the road. Les got so fed up with the regular phone calls she even put up posters around the town to reassure residents that they haven’t killed her cat, it’s just something the funny feline likes to do.

Lolly has also become well-known for being a stowaway in pharmacy vans, catching a lift when no one is looking!

International fame

But Lolly isn’t just famous within the town of Banbury. After a story was published in the local paper, Lolly’s antics caught the attention of newspapers around the country and even the Washington Post in America took an interest. Lolly has become so famous he’s even appeared on ITV’s This Morning and mentioned on Loose Women. The cat even has a magazine deal.

Urrggghhh! He’s at it again. Twice the vets had to come and check him as he was playing dead again. Please share to get a bigger reach. Thanks 💙🤦‍♀️

Les thinks Lolly’s behaviour is all down to him just enjoying the attention!
