Spectators astonished when feral animal shows up on field and forces game to stop
In 2017, Yokohama Stadium in Japan hosted not just a baseball game. It staged what is arguably the most impressive feline pitch invasion in history.

A baseball game between Yokohama BayStars and the Hanshin Tigers was interrupted by an unlikely streaker. The playing field was level at 1-1 when at the start of the ninth inning a cat legged it onto the pitch.
According to eye witnesses the cat launched itself onto the pitch in a bold move to steal the limelight from the ambitious BayStars. It ran along the baseline, in front of the BayStars’ dugout and over to the right field, where fans held out hands in an attempt to touch the feline fortune hunter.
But for the home team this was no lucky cat. After the moggy had disappeared BayStars yielded three runs and eventually fell to the Hanshin Tigers 1-4.
Oddly enough, in the same month of the Yokohoma cat, the Marlins of Miami were reeling from their own pitch invasion. Their game against the Atlanta Braves was halted between the fifth and sixth innings by a black cat that ran the outfield. This time the cat did prove to be a lucky charm, causing the Marlins to win 8-4!
