When the lady discovered the tiny ball of black fur in her back garden, the mother cat was nowhere around. The kitten was desperately hungry and in urgent need of care. The woman knew that for this kitten to survive she needed to act quickly, so she handed the kitten over to Ashley Kelley, an experienced cat fosterer.
Once the kitten was in Ashley’s care, she gave her a thorough check over. That’s when Ashley spotted that the kitten had a deformed mouth which pushed her nasal cavities upwards and apart.
Tiny but determined
Despite being weak, hungry and abandoned by her mother, the little kitten named Aela, had a strong will to survive. Once Ashley found a way to feed the kitten safely, she was soon thriving and when she was strong enough to be up on her paws, Aela was determined not to miss out on anything.
Three months after she was rescued, Aela is not a tiny fragile little kitten anymore. She loves nothing more than cuddles and playing with anything she can get her little paws on. Even Mulder the grumpy resident cat has taken a shine to her.
Thankfully it seems she was saved just in time.
