In the dead of winter, a small black kitten was found all alone on the side of a road in North Carolina. Luckily, volunteers from Sparkle Cat Rescue were quickly on the case.

They brought him back to their clinic for a check-up and some well-deserved TLC.

New home, new family

Once given a clean bill of health, the kitty, later named “Bear”, was on the lookout for a forever home. And with that adorable face, it wasn’t long before he found one!

But the best part about his new home was that he wasn’t going to be the only pet. He would share his parents’ love with a big sister: a 10-year-old Lab named Riley!

Best friends forever

At first, Bear’s adopters weren’t sure how it would go between their two pets, but it turns out they had nothing to worry about! Bear immediately became Riley’s shadow, following her everywhere and trying to cuddle her constantly.

Riley was very patient with Bear and his kitten antics. Though she does get benefits from the relationship too: Bear likes to ‘massage’ her before they nap, and he also keeps her company during fireworks (of which she’s not a fan).

These two have such an adorable friendship, we just can’t get enough of them!
