When a 3-week-old kitten was rescued from a cat colony, she was so distressed no one was able to calm her. That was until a 10-year-old boy became her new best friend.

Little Ariel was just a tiny kitten when she was discovered living among a cat colony in California after being abandoned by her feral mother and was taken in by a local rescue group.
Kelli Gross heard about Ariel and was eager to help as she already had a rescue cat at home who was nursing six kittens. When Kelli and her 10-year-old brother Zack went to collect the kitten from the vet they heard loud cries and were shocked to discover it was coming from the tiny kitten.
Ariel was very distressed and couldn’t settle. Despite everyone’s best efforts, no one could find a way to calm her. That was until Zack picked her up and held her in his arms, talking softly to her and giving her strokes and kisses. Ariel soon relaxed and fell asleep in Zack’s lap.
When they arrived home, Ariel was introduced to her new foster mum Twilight. Kelli hoped the kitten would latch on and begin nursing from Twilight. But Ariel kept moving way as if she didn’t know how to nurse. So, every time Ariel moved away from Twilight, Zack gently put her back. Eventually, Ariel understood what to do and soon latched on, purring away happily.
Little Ariel is now a healthy and happy cat and her bond with Zack is still as strong as ever. Now the only reason she cries is when she’s demanding more milk!
