Only last year the press upped the romantic prowess of men with cats. But that was last year. Today, according to CNN, pictures of men holding cats are a unanimous no-no.

Colorado State University recently revealed the findings of a study it did of how potent a man appeared when he was pictured holding a cat. And the news - for men - is not good.
Researchers found that women were less likely to find a man attractive if he posted a picture of him and his cat.
That flies in the face of other research carried out by Itchpet last year that revealed 1 in 6 men believed owning a cat helped them to find more dates.
What’s wrong with cats?
According to CNN’s citing of the research, 38% of women said they were, “likely or very likely to casually date him, while 37% said they'd consider a serious relationship with him.”
But of respondents who viewed a picture of the same man holding a cat, the percentages dropped to 33% across the board. Meanwhile, the proportion of women who said they would never get involved with the feline feller rose from 9% to 14%.
Men holding cats were perceived as neurotic and fragile. Perhaps the motto of the story is: Try to look past the cat!
